Karen's First Day of Preschool

Today was Karen's first day of preschool and she was so excited. It's called Kayla's Preschool, a little private preschool in a home about 5 minutes from our house. I had to get pictures of her going in and coming out. They didn't turn out too well, the sun was really bright and washed her out. I was in a hurry so I couldn't take time to redo them but this shows how excited she was a shows her cute preschool room and teacher.

She had a great time and when we got home regaled me with play by play version of her day at preschool. I was amazed at her memory capacity and glad that she had so much fun. This is going to be a fun experience for her.

I've been looking forward to the time when Karen would be in school for a long time, so it suprised me yesterday when I started having an emotional reaction to my baby starting school. It hit me that this is the begining of her school career and that she will be in school now for the next 13 years at least. I started getting all choked up about my little girl starting school. But she will learn and thrive with this experience and I am really excited that we are able to give her this experience.

House Hunting Again

Well, we found out today that the house we bid on had another offer. Since we haven't had much activity with our house, we felt it would be a mistake to take on another mortgage without unloading this one first, so we released them from our bid and are now on the hunt again. We will be lowering our home price and thus lowering the price of home we are looking for and starting all over again. We will be having another open house this weekend to kick off our new pricing of $198,900. Wish us luck.

All Better

Isn't it nice to be healthy. Being sick always helps me to appreciate being healthy again. I think what was wrong was a migraine. I've had really bad headaches, but not as debilitating as that one. Saturday I did much better, and Sunday it was gone.

My kids missed me, though they are still acting just the same. Michael just came and stole a toy from Karen and ran away and Karen jumped up and ran after him. The chase was on, though it didn't last very long. Karen cornered Michael and took the toy back. Karen then sprinted back to the couch away from Michael with Michael hot on her tail and screaming "MINE!" and Karen saying "No!". Mommy ended up intervening and telling Michael to ask nicely for the toy (which Karen hadn't been playing with anyway) which he did and Karen finally gave it to him. A minute later the toy ended up abandoned and neither child cared about it anymore. Typical day in the Stark household.

Sick

It totally sucks being sick. I hate just laying in bed and not being able to do anything. Some kind of bug got me. I've had a horrible headache and I'm dizzy and nauseous and tired and whenever I stand up, it's so much worse. I've had the headache all week but it got worse yesterday late afternoon and just carried over into today. Neils has been wonderful to stay home and take care of the kids. It was especially great since I slept til nearly 1:00 pm today and I think it helped.


One good thing is that I've been able to catch up on all my shows that I've recorded on DVR. My favorite show has started airing a new season. EUREKA! It's on again and I love it just as much as ever. And a Doctor Who marathon was on today and I love the Doctor Who series especially the second season with Rose and the Doctor. But this last season, I have to say, was the best of all of them. I especially loved how they brought all the characters (and dr who spin off characters) into the last three episodes. It was amazing! Gotta love it.

The Temple

Yesterday we went to the temple during our first open house. It was a beautiful summer day and a perfect day to be in the temple. We saw several brides getting pictures taken which is always fun. We were able to get into a session of sealings which we love to do. It helps us reflect on the day we were sealed and helps us remember the commitments we made and blessings that can be ours if we live right. I came out with a very happy yet peaceful feeling. I love that. It's been a few months since we went to do work for the dead and I've missed the feeling I get when I go there.

During our open house we had about four people come. We weren't there, but our realtor said that two were curious neighbors that wanted to see our home. The other two were buyers that were checking out our home. He said that one of them seemed really interested and he wouldn't be surprised if they called for a second showing, but I'm not getting my hopes up. We were encouraged that someone wanted to see our home. These are the first people we have had come through our home since we put our house up for sale last month. Hopefully we'll get more in the next few weeks.

I can't believe the summer is almost over. I see my friends blogs who have kids beginning school already and I think of Karen starting preschool at the end of this month. It's hard to believe she's old enough, but she is so ready and excited to go to school. She's growing up really fast.
