Yesterday was our yard sale. It started very early in the morning and we heard from neighbors that we actually had people come before we even got up. We were out and setting things up about 7:30 am and we didn't close down until 12:00 pm. We were able to get rid of quite a lot of "stuff". Neils was mostly glad to have the space in our basement, though we did make some good money from the endeavor. Our neighbors also got in on the action and I think we had more business because there were two of us on our street with things to sell.
Because our kids had to endure the events of the morning and stay inside most of the time while mommy and daddy were outside working the sale, we decided to give them a treat and took them to Sugarhouse park for a picnic dinner and feeding the ducks. They had a blast! The ducks even came and ate out of our hands and the kids' hands, until Michael ran after them and scattered them. By the time we ran out of bread the ducks, pigeons and seagulls had us surrounded. It was fun. Good memories. We should have taken pictures. Oh well, maybe next time.
