Fireworks

On the 24th we and several neighbors got together to set off our store-bought fireworks. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed our little cul-de-sac with next to no traffic and fun neighbors to spend the night with. The kids had fun with all the other kids there and were really good for the hour or so we spent outside. We got a few good pictures of the fireworks too.

Michael also made a friend. They were dressed alike, had the same hair cuts and are just a week apart in age. It was fun to watch them together. They had a lot of fun.

It's ours! (kinda)

Wonderful news! Our offer has been accepted on the house! There are a couple of stipulations like we have to sell our house and they will keep theirs on the market until we get a bid on our house. So we've lowered the price of our house to $207,000 to try to get more attention and we will be having open houses and the like for the next couple of weeks to try to get our home sold quickly! We are excited, but anxious at the same time since nothing is set until we sell our house. But that's how the housing business goes, right? Pray for us and send anyone you know that is buying a house our way. Thanks!

Summer Rain

We had a wonderful summer rain storm today. It was a little cooler because of the clouds, but it was still warm and the rain was warm too. As the rain came down early this afternoon, we were watching it out the window and we saw some neighbor kids with their umbrella playing in the rain. I thought, what a perfect day to play in the rain. So I found our umbrellas and rolled up our pant and went out barefoot in the rain. Karen was eager to join the fun, but Michael wasn't too sure about the whole thing. After helping him figure out how to hold up his umbrella, I led him out into the rain and helped him enjoy it. After a minute he was running and playing with his sister in the wet, warm rain. We had a blast and I just had to take pictures.

Kids

It's so fun to watch my two toddlers as they are growing up. They have finally learned to play together and it's fun to watch them as they act out their favorite shows or play pretend with each other. Most of the time it is Karen telling Michael what to do and what they are going to play, but sometimes Michael has his own ideas and grabs Karen's hand and says "Cum on Kawen". They have fun putting their animals to sleep or in time out. They play "gas up" and "garage" with the toy firehouse Grandma Stark gave Michael for his birthday. This also gives me time to do other things and have a few minutes to myself on a daily basis which I haven't had for over 4 years. It's really nice and I'm really enjoying their interactions with each other, though it's not always perfect and more than not it still ends in one coming crying to mommy because the other won't share. But they are learning and that's the important part, right?

Still waiting

So at 4:58 pm Saturday, 2 minutes before the deadline, we got a call about the house. They have responded with a counter offer and we now have til Monday at 5:00 pm to respond. Since we didn't find out til late Saturday and our agent was busy that night and then it being Sunday and all, we will wait until Monday to hash out another offer and see if we can work something out. Then it will probably be 2 more days before we hear anything. Ooooohhhhhh the games....... I hate waiting. But at least they are willing to negotiate which gives us some hope, and everything is still contingent upon our house selling.......

Crazy, crazy, crazy. My head is spinning and even if they do accept our offer we still don't know if we will be able to sell our house which might never happen. Well, all we can do is pray and pray and wait and if this is meant to be the Lord will make it happen. It's all in His hands now.
