Today

It's a new week with our new carpet! Our carpet was finished by Thursday night and it is beautiful and soft and makes walking around the house with shoes off a great pleasure. Crazy 3 days of moving furniture and having my house a mess, but I can now say that it was totally worth it. I love it and it makes the prospect of staying here (if we have to) more enjoyable.

Although, today we had a prospective buyer come see our house and it's the first since our new carpet was put in. It's kind of exciting. Though I'm trying not to get my hopes up, after all they didn't stay very long. Oh well.

Here are a few pictures of our newly carpeted home.

New Carpet Finally

Well, after about a week of searching, comparing and getting opinions, we finally made the decision. We are going to get this carpet installed, hopefully by the end of the week. Thanks for everyone's opinions and help, it was great!

Carpet

So we've decided that it is time to replace our carpet. Our carpet is nearly 10 years old and it is sadly in need of being replaced. We thought that maybe people might want to choose the carpet color when they bought the house, but it turns out it is the biggest thing (next to a second bathroom) that people don't like and turn them off of our house. So we decided to do it for them (and also for us incase we stay). Now comes the fun part of getting bids, choosing carpet, getting a good deal and running all over town trying to do this. Lots of advice has helped us and we are currently getting bids from different places like Lowes, Home Depot, RC Willey, Garden Gate, and possibly others. Any suggestions? We want it done pretty quick and not too expensive.

So many different colors and so many different textures and styles it's getting confusing, but I think I like a short frieze type carpet best with variegated beige and brown colors. But, plush is nice too. Leave a note and let me know if you prefer plush (1st pic) or frieze (2nd pic) so that I can do what's more popular, here are some swatches.
